Hummingbird

The idea

“The hummingbird is an instant of light. It neither comes nor goes: it hangs in the air like a heartbeat held still.

Remembering a loved one is like following the trace of that invisible wingbeat: we do not see the bird, but we feel the vibration in the air. Love does not disappear; it turns into a subtle presence, into a silence that burns, into a time that does not go out.”
